They are escalating the mobilizations of bodies and residents in Thesprotia, so as not to close the “Lieutenant Triandis” camp to Filiates.

Early in the morning, the town halls of Igoumenitsa, Souli and Filiates remained closed, while hundreds of citizens gathered on the main street of the Filiates holding banners with slogans such as “Down the hands of 628” and “not in desolation and withering”.

According to residents and operators in the area, the camp creates a sense of security in the acrimonious area, gives life and contributes to the local economy.

Vice -Mayor Thesprotia Thomas Pitoulis, who is involved in the protest, said in his statements that he has proposed in writing to the National Defense Ministry the upgrading of the Filiates Camp to the Special Forces Training Center or something similar to the expense.
