With creativity of recipes, cold coffees gain more space in SP

The cold coffees invaded the coffee shops of São Paulo. Whether in summer menus or the permanent menu, refreshing drinks came to stay.

It is true that the Brazilian consumer resists this news and, in general, still prefers the traditional steaming coffee, even in the hottest season of the year.

However, the growth of icy drinks seems unavoidable, especially in coffee shops.

The quality of these drinks has improved. As it is relatively new, the market is still trying to find recipes that work.

Before the choice was among simple cold coffees and super sugary beverages, full of exaggeration. Today, however, coffee shops serve more elaborate drinks, with ingredients that go beyond flavored syrups.

Improvement helps raise the consumption of these drinks in coffee shops. According to Nestlé, cold coffees already represent 12% of sales in these establishments.

Just stroll through the main coffee shops of São Paulo to realize that the offer of these drinks has grown in recent years – both in quantity and, still, in quality.

Café Aizomê

Chef Telma Shiraishi House installed on the ground floor of Japan House, on Paulista Avenue, serves classics with minor rereading, such as Shoga Coffee & Tonic, iced coffee with tonic water and ginger (R $ 22) and Iced Vanilla Latte, with milk and vanilla (R $ 24).

Botanikafé

The brunch house has a summer menu with special cold drinks for the season, such as the Mirante, made from Cold Brew – cold extracted through the contact of hours between dust and water – pineapple, mint, juice lemon, orange juice, vanilla and ice syrup (R $ 22). COFFEE CULTURE

The Florianópolis Cafes Network in Florianópolis has partnered with Naveia, a manufacturer of vegetable milk. From this collaboration emerged drinks such as Cold Coffee Ginger, ginger syrup, vegetable milk, Cold Brew and ginger foam (R $ 28) and Cold Navel, with hazelnut cream, hazelnut syrup, vegetable milk and Cold Brew (R $ 28). It also has the cold house of the bottled house in packaging of 250 ml (R $ 16).

Hario House

Catarina Coffee & Love

It is not today that this cafeteria that only opens on weekends likes to test recipes. One of them is a Cold Brew infused with oak pieces, which gives a woody and smoked flavor to the drink (R $ 45 in the tide menu).

Cheirin Bão

The cafeteria has a great nitrogen ice cream, extracted through a tap such as the one used to serve draft beer. It’s just coffee, without adding other ingredients, but has a velvety texture, like a dark draft beer ($ 10).

GO Coffee

With dozens of stores around the city, there are menu without great inventions. The idea is to serve the classics, with some small differential. Waku Waku

The coffee coffees for them are extracted from Aeropress, a method that mixes filtering with pressure, and later dumped into a glass with plenty of ice (R $ 12).
