New seismic activity in the marine area between Santorini and Amorgos is expected tomorrow, according to Research Director of the Geodynamic Institute, Athanasios Ghana, the who spoke to SKAI radio 100.3.

In the meantime the Earth does not stop from Santorini and the surrounding islands. Authorities and scientists remain on the alert, while islands expect the first positive signal to return to regularity.

In the microscope the data from the new submarine seismographs

At the same time, data from the portable underwater seismographs in Santorini is collected by the Scientific Team of the Professor of Geological Oceanography of the EKPA Evi Law.

Seismographers – who in “Where there is Greece” by SKAI was recorded last week in Santorini, were recovered and according to Evi Law, their data is sent for processing. At the same time, in the coming days an underwater robot is expected to enter the Columbus submarine volcano to collect new data.

As Ms. Lawyou was in Nea Kammeni, along with the group from the Army Geographical Service, explained to SKAI’s “where Greece”, the researchers proceeded with gravity measurements by substantially repeating the measurements made in 2011-2012, exactly at the same points.

Also, all trigonometric points in the area were measured by satellite depiction to determine any deformities.

The same process was launched to take place in both Santorini and Thirasia.
