One more earthquake 5 -magnitude Richter scale was recorded at 03:14 on Wednesday morning in the maritime space between Santorini and Amorgou Focusing 24 km south – southwest of Akein Amorgos.

The earthquake was felt in Athens.

A multitude of smaller seismic vibrations followed at the same point, with stronger: 4 Richter (1:35), 4.6 (at 02:14), 4.2 (at 2:18), 4 (at 2:23) and 4 , 1 (at 6:21).

According to the conclusion of the marathon meeting yesterday by the Seismic Risk Committees and Monitoring of the Greek Volcanic Arc, the seismic activity in the Anydros region moves to approximately the same levels.

From February 1, more than 1,100 earthquakes have been recorded above 3 degrees on the Richter scale.

Professor Costas Papazachos said that “there has been a slight shift in the seismic activity of the Edits to Amorgos in recent days, but this is common.”

He said that all the public buildings that have been examined so far have exhibited very good seismic behavior.

The committee called on residents to comply with the measures announced, such as avoiding indoor gatherings, moving only from safe routes and avoiding the use of the four ports of Caldera in Santorini where there is an increased risk of landslides.

Schools will remain closed until Friday in Santorini, Anafi, Amorgos and Ios.
