Location of 57 foreigners and arrest of their two foreign traffickers after a pursuit of Samos.

In the midday hours yesterday, the Samos Port Authority was informed of the existence of a suspected yacht (I/c) boat, which was moving west of Agathonisi to the southwestern coasts of Samos. Immediately, four patrol vessels (PLSs) of LS-ELAKT went to the area, while the crew of one of the PLSs used bright and audio signals, in which the/C boat did not respond and followed.

During the pursuit, the other PLS approached the Signs and Special Missions (KEAs) executives of the Samos Port Authority. Foreigners, while the two foreign operators (Turkey nationals) were arrested. The 57 foreigners (27 men, 17 women and 13 minors) were taken to PLSs and transported to the port of Pythagorion, where they were handed over to Samos Police/TDM Police Department executives to lead to the closed controlled structure of Samos. The two operators of the 39th and 41 -year -old man, were recognized by the others as their traffickers and arrested for violating article 25 of Law 5038/2023 “Division of third -country nationals”, article 83 of Law 3386 /2005 “illegal entry into the country” and Article 45 of the CC “Co -conspiracy”.

After utilizing information from the Port Authority of Samos in collaboration with the Europol local scale, the involvement of the D/C boat was found in three more cases of aliens on the southwestern coast of Samos in January. From the Port Authority of Samos, the preliminary investigation seized the means of transport, as well as a mobile phone.
