Equipped with dual layout NVIDIA DRIVE AGX ORIN, ES90 is the most powerful Volvo model ever created in computing power terms
A few weeks are left for the presentation of our next purely electric model. The Volvo ES90 is a typical example of how we approach the software -based car and is designed to evolve and improving continuously through host technology, permanent connectivity and data. It is sophisticated for safe and enjoyable routes every day.
The ES90 is the first Volvo model to be equipped with a dual -layout Nvidia Drive Agx Orin, an element that makes it the most powerful car we have ever created in computational terms. This allows us to set the bar in security and overall performance, database, software and artificial intelligence (AI) even higher.
Drive AGX Orin is Nvidia’s intelligent NVIDIA platform, which coordinates various important systems and processes in the car at extremely fast speeds. With a high level of computing power, about 508 trillion functions per second (also known as Tops), manages functions such as state -of -the -art, AI based, active safety systems, car sensors and efficient battery control.
Based on NVIDIA DRIVE AGX ORIN main computer provides up to eight times increased AI efficiency compared to Drive AGX Xavier, enabling us to gradually increase the size of our deep learning model 200 million parameters. This will happen gradually, as we collect more data and continue to evolve the model as part of our overall goal of improving the customer experience and, more importantly, of security levels.
A car really determined by its software, designed to improve over time
The ES90 uses our SPA2 architecture and is the second model based on the Volvo Cars Superset technological stack after the ex90. The technological stack of Superset consists of a single set of software and hardware, as well as systems that will support all our upcoming electric cars.
It is a radical solution to how we can evolve and use software to improve safety, technology and overall performance throughout the life of the car. With the technological stack of superset, we can make such improvements more efficiently and launch them even faster, through wireless updates on all SuperSet-based models.
This kind of improvements may include new connectivity functions, security improvements and other improvements that can upgrade the car performance. For example, increasing battery autonomy in your car in specific driving conditions. Continuous improvement through regular updates is now included as standard in your Volvo.
In addition, as the Superset technological stack supports all of our upcoming electric cars, we can increase the performance of each car in our range at the same time so that ES90 customers can benefit from upgrading the software to EX90 and vice versa. This means that software now replaces hardware as a basic source of innovation and value creation for our customers.

The ES90 combines excellent understanding of its environment through a series of advanced sensors, including a Lidar, five radar, eight cameras and twelve ultrasonic sensors, as well as an advanced driving system analysis in the car. These security systems are designed to help stay safe, detecting obstacles even in darkness and activating precautionary security measures, such as avoiding conflict.

Future application for existing customers
The Nvidia Drive Agx Orin will also apply to the ex90, upgrading its current version which includes Drive Agx Orin and Drive Agx Xavier, according to our philosophy of continuous improvement.
This is a tangible example of how our approach to superset allows us to upgrade our car’s hardware as new technologies are available. The current owners of EX90 will receive an upgrade for their free cars.
The global revelation of the new Volvo ES90 will take place on March 5, 2025.
