Adrianople, Yunus Sezer, has announced that Turkey would build an 8.5km fence on the border with Greece and that it can later expand, as reported by SKAI correspondent in Constantinople, Manolis.

More specifically, the Governor of Adrianople, Yunus Sezer, made statements about border security developments and the crime of Adrianople after the February Public Order and Security meeting.

Speaking to the press after the February Public Order and Security Meeting, Adrianople Governor Yunus Sezer shared details of the security project on the border line. Sezer said that work done last year to strengthen border roads were completed and said:

“As for the work done on the border line, we had completed the improvement of our 325km border roads and the construction of border roads since last September. This year we continue with the work and support of our Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of National Defense both in the construction of electric towers and in other measures. This year, we will apply natural border measures for the first time on our western border. Walls and fences will be built on the border line. As you know, there were only patrol routes. The patrol routes were completed and there was a competition for the construction of natural fences and walls, such as the eastern border. For the first time we will have taken physical security measures on the western border. In the first stage, a wall will be built on the Greek border.
