A 61 -year -old German accused of archaeologists, After arrests on Saturday night in the port of Patras to Italy, carrying an ancient column to his car.

Archaeologist from the Ephorate of Antiquities of Achaia was called on Sunday morning to the Port Authority to check the column and certified the authenticity of the ancient object.

The 61 -year -old German, now accused of archaeologists, was held in the Port Authority for two days and was taken to the investigator yesterday.

In yesterday’s apology, the perpetrator said that someone sold him the column to Athens, in an area near the Acropolis, but himself did not understand that it was an ancientand especially genuine, object and for that !!!

The investigator was not convinced, ordered further investigation and released the German, but on clear restrictive terms and of course a ban on leaving Greece, to a younger one.

Within the next few days, when the column is transferred from the Port Authority to the Ephorate of Antiquities of Achaia, the relevant correspondence, as it is foreseen, will be followed to identify where it is stolen!

That is, the Achaia Ephorate, that is, through the Ministry of Culture, will send a document to all archaeological services in Greece to investigate and ascertain from which site.
