The trial of the death of 31 -year -old police officer George Lygeridis, who was fatally injured by a naval flare during episodes in December 2023 outside the Melina Mercouri stadium by Rentis, continues.

Today he testifies one of the brothers of the 19 -year -old defendant, who, while initially stated that when he asked his brother he had said that he was really throwing a naval flare against the police officer, today he was referring to it, referring to it about the name of the police officer. Pressures received by police at the time of depositbut also for his own bad psychological state that did not allow him to undo and correct, as ERT reports.

He also spoke of a congratulatory message of reward his brother received from another fan, also accused in the other major trial of the same case and specifically said: “I saw a message that sent him and wrote thumbs up, you are very dude.”

The defendant’s brother said he was involved in the episodes and that when he asked him if he had thrown a naval flare, because we had heard that a police officer was hit, he replied he didn’t know if he had done so because at the same time he was falling on his own, stressing that he was in a bad situation, stressing that he was in a bad state. Still today he is not sure that he hit George Liggeridis.

A brutal liar was accused by the defendant’s brother’s defense lawyer, the defendant’s brother, arguing that he is mocking the court and offending the memory of the dead, asking the seat to be taken to the witness to the law of self -infliction and to arrest the court.
