A new information and awareness campaign to promote recycling with a central message: “Learn to do it right” is being implemented by the Attica Region with the Holcim member.

The campaign, which had begun days before had raised the public’s questions about what concerns, culminating in Mr Chardalia’s video hugging his wife, who sparked a variety of reactions.

Today the answers were given with the new video posted, in which he and his wife Yiota, without implications, reveal that they are referring to the recycling campaign.

The initiative was officially presented at a press conference today by Attica Regional Governor Nikos Chardalia and the Managing Director of the HERAKLIS Group Mr. Dimitris Chanis.

Through the campaign, citizens have the opportunity to be informed of the value of proper recycling in order to highlight the benefit to humans and the environment when waste is recycled in a correct and responsible manner.

The “LEARN TO DO IT” campaign comes in a simple and playful language to mobilize the public in small daily acts with a great impact on the lives of all of us and the environment, in order to establish a new national recycling culture on the right bases and on the other.

Attica Regional Governor, Mr. Nikos Chardalias, said: “Environmental protection is proven priority and absolute bet for the region. In this light, we seek clear plans that create value for citizens. And in such plans the region will be a leading role and will be a helper. I think this synergy is a good example to imitate all the big companies on how they can handle corporate responsibility programs. And it proves that where there is the cooperation of private bodies and public administration, then the citizen always comes out to win

In the importance of recycling for sustainability and sustainability, Heraklis Group CEO, Mr. Dimitris Chanis, focused on his speech: Maintaining natural resources, energy saving, job creation and sustainable development of the economy. Our goal through this campaign in collaboration with the Attica Region is to turn a page in recycling, informing and encouraging recycling practices, as recycling is a condition for all of us and has everywhere – businesses, households, public places. Thus, the state, business and society we can together restart the way we manage and recycle waste, giving every material a second life. “

The energy is structured into two main pillars: information and education, with a central rationale that the adoption of recycling practices and their integration into everyday life is vital to ensuring a viable planet as a legacy to future generations.

In the context of familiarity with the correct recycling practices, the Immerge app is being developed, in collaboration with the Research University Institute of Communications and Computer Systems (EPC) of the National Technical University of Athens (School of Electrical and Computer Engineering). Immerge – available for iOS and Android – uses extensive reality (XR) to bring to life all kinds of information and content around recycling. With constant addition of new content, Immerge offers updated and rich material, while its AI-Driven scanner recognizes everyday objects and improves overall learning experience.
