A film operation by the French and Senegalese authorities has led to the seizure of a quantity of mammoth cocaine.

The operation took place on October 17, 2021 in a sea area of the Atlantic Ocean, about 220 miles off the coast of Senegal.

In this area, where ships of the French navy were sailing and French planes were flying, a boat named “La Rosa” was found, on which members of an international drug ring were aboard.

Following an operation by French armored personnel carriers, the traffickers were stopped and two tons of pure cocaine were confiscated, while the five members of the ship’s crew were arrested.

As it is revealed, the success had a Greek… aroma.

The boat with the drugs had passed through Ierapetra, Crete, where the Greek port authorities had the information that it was transporting cocaine.

The Greek Coast Guard, using technical means, began to monitor the vessel, gave the information to the French authorities at the appropriate time and thus it became possible to arrest the traffickers and confiscate the drugs.

The traffickers had placed the cocaine in waterproof bags.

Tomorrow, Monday, the Deputy Minister of Finance of France will visit the Greek Minister of Shipping, Giannis Plakiotakis, in Athens and will convey his thanks for the decisive contribution of the Greek authorities in the case that is considered extremely important by the French.
