During checks at the 3rd Customs Office of Piraeus, a suspected organic matter was found in container refrigerators.
Two new cases of drug trafficking were identified by AADE Customs and Greek Police auditors in containers with bananas coming from Ecuador and final destination in Piraeus.
Specifically, during checks at the 3rd Piraeus Customs Office, using a X-ray vehicle, a suspected organic matter was identified in container refrigerators.
In the first case, after a positive indication of Max and Kyberr detectors dogs, 67 packages of cocaine were seized with 78kg gross. The value of the seized cocaine is estimated at around € 3.51 million.
In the latter case, during the natural control by customs auditors and ELAS, 47 packages of cocaine, weighing 53 kg, were seized and their value is estimated at around € 2.39 million.
The total gross weight of cocaine reaches 131 kg and its value of € 5.9 million.
The research is ongoing, with the possibility of linking the case to other similar ones, in the context of efforts to dismantle an international network of importing and trafficking in drugs.
