Problems on the Paros road network caused the severe weather events that occurred earlier today while heavy rains and thunderstorms hit both Mykonos and Syros, with roads flooding. According to a statement from the Municipality of Paros, the damage to the road network include landslides, floods and sections of the network, which makes movement dangerous.
At the same time, the school units will remain closed tomorrow in Paros and Mykonos, according to municipal announcements.
In particular, the Municipality of Paros in its announcement states that tomorrow the operation of the Primary and Secondary Schools as well as the Municipal Kindergartens of the Municipality for the protection and safety of students and teachers is suspended.
“The bad weather affecting the Cyclades continues and the inhabitants of Mykonos must remain in their homes as long as the phenomenon is ongoing.
The school units will remain closed tomorrow Tuesday.

Earlier, it was decided to ban vehicles on the road network in Paros and Mykonos, with the exception of emergency vehicles, due to severe weather events affecting the two areas. In fact, residents and visitors to the two islands received messages of 112 informing them of the above decision.
According to the up -to -date emergency report of dangerous weather events, the Phenomena in the Cyclades will last until noon Tuesday and are expected to be dangerous.
As it became known from the Fire Brigade, roads mainly in the Naoussa area and in the Paros swimming pools were flooded by lowering loads and dragging parked vehicles.
A total of 160 calls have been received by the Business Center of the MS, due to the manifestation of heavy rainfall in Paros and Mykonos since the midday hours today.
In particular, the Business Center of the MS has received:
100 calls to Mykonos, and so far have been made:
– Five water pumps
To strengthen the forces on the island of Mykonos, 2 firefighters with 1 vehicle and 4 firefighters with 2 vehicles go from Tinos.
60 calls in Paros, and so far have been made:
– 8 water pumps and
– 13 transfers of people to safe places
To strengthen the forces on the island of Paros, 6 firefighters with 3 vehicles were transferred from Naxos.
The Fire Brigade calls on all citizens to be particularly careful and in the event of an emergency weather events, they faithfully follow the instructions of the competent authorities.
At the same time, patrols are forces of the Fire Brigade, ELAS and Civil Protection. It is noted that helicopter of the Fire Brigade attempted to go to the island, but because of the bad weather this was not possible.
It should be noted that according to the updated emergency report of hazardous weather events locally heavy rains and thunderstorms are projected from time to time until Wednesday morning (02-04-25) in most areas of the eastern country.
