The circulation is delivered tomorrow, Thursday, April 3, 2025, the winter bridge in the Agona area of ​​Kefalonia, as reconstruction work was completed after the collapse of the infrastructure from the severe weather events on the island, September 17 and 18, 2020).

The damage caused by the natural disaster had the impact of destabilizing the wider road network, making it difficult to traffic, due to the collapse of steep slopes and lesions on the road.

Projects implemented include:

· Restoration of the Divarata – Agona – Argostoli Provincial Road Bridge, (about 23 km) with a mixed bridge of an opening bridge consisting of six (6) main beams of 25 meters long and 1.2 meters high.

· Improvement of the Divarata – Agona – Argostoli Provincial Road and the slopes in the area of ​​the New Bridge at Agona (winter) for about 400 meters.

The restoration of the bridge was complemented in a comprehensive project related to the tackling of the damage caused by the intense seismic activity in January and February 2014 in scattered positions on the Kefalonia road network.

In this context, road restoration work was carried out, as well as failures in various places on the following provincial roads of the IP. Kefalonia:

· Argostoli – Fiscardo.

· Kardakata – Livadi – Lixouri.

· Livadi – Ag. Thekli – Havriata – Mantzavinata – Lixouri.

· Lixouri – Delaporta and

· Lixouri – Havdata.

On the occasion of the tradition of the Winter Bridge, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Dimas said:
