Amazon has been bid at the last minute to buy Tiktok, as a US government official said Wednesday. The offer comes just a few days before the April 5th deadline.

US President Donald Trump is expected to discuss what Tiktok’s fate will be at a meeting on Wednesday at the Oval Office where he will consider a final proposal as a White House official told Reuters.

Amazon refused to make a comment on this information.

Amazon’s shares rose 1.3% after the news.

Trump said last month that his government was in contact with four different teams about selling the platform, without identifying them.

The US business capital company Andreessen Horowitz is also in discussions on investment in Tiktok as part of an effort, led by Trump, to gain control of the application, the Financial Times said on Tuesday.

The New York Times was the first to report Amazon’s involvement but various people who participated in the conversations seem to be not seriously giving up. The offer came through a letter addressed to Vice President Jay Di Vans and the Minister of Commerce Howard Lutnik.

Amazon has also dealt with social media by creating its own tiktok video flow and photos of Inspire, which was previously available in its mobile application.

Last month, there were several reports in the media that said Amazon had closed the Inspire.
