Visit to the New Michaniona fish in Thessaloniki today was paid at dawn by the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Christos Kellas and the Ministry’s Secretary General George Stratakos, to discuss with the fishermen on the problems they face in the implementation of the Community Directive.
Fishermen respond to the integration of European legislation related to how to weigh the catches.
During the constructive debate and browsing in the Fisothykala premises, as well as on boats, the Deputy Minister of Rural Development pointed out that the ministry’s leadership is working intensively to find the optimal solution, in a problem that is not Greek, but concerns the whole.
After the visit to Nea Michaniona, Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Christos Kellas, said:
“We stand by the people of production and labor, we move together and give solutions. The aim of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food is to solve the problems that our fishermen face with modifications acceptable by the industry, while respecting Community decisions. A new meeting is also in the coming days. We are looking for a commonly accepted solution. Fisheries is a key pillar of our economy. “
