A very serious affair sees the light of publicity following a complaint to the National Transparency Authority. The complaint is about AEI to Northern Greece and according to her a relative professor allegedly secured conventions to take lessons for 18 yearswithout having a recognized degree.

After complaintInspectors of the Regional Service of the Hellenic Republic They carried out a check for the period 2005 – 2024 at a higher education institution in Northern Greece, on the legality of the procedures for the awarding of the Teaching Projects of Emergency Personnel and Employment in projects of the Special Research Funds (ELKE). of him.

During the audit, the following were found, as appropriate:

  • The private “K” employed non -laws in the HEI as teaching staff During the period 2005 – 2017, as it was not recognized by DOATAP. HEI degree.
  • In addition, during the period 2005 – 2020, “K” was employed by non -laws with project assignments to E programs funded by E. of HEI, totaling 87,360 €in which, almost exclusively, scientifically responsible for his/his relative “K”, who contributed to the procedures for selection, assignment and payment of the project to “K”, in violation of the principle of impartiality of administrative bodies.
  • The evaluation of the prospective teachers was conducted by an unauthorized committee.
  • The Evaluation Committee of Candidate Teachers has drawn up evaluation report prior to the expiry date of the applications of applications.
  • There was an unjustified increase in the score of the private “K” by the same evaluation committee and without the submission of new information by “K”.
  • The dominant candidates were excluded by the pretext, either in their non -availability on the basis of a program watch which was not in prior knowledge of the candidates, or their refusal to undertake teaching, but without the relevant documentation.
  • The professor and a close relative of his/her private “K” participated in the decisions of the Senate of the Foundation on the approval of the teaching project to his/her relative “K”, in violation of the principle of impartiality.
  • The private “K” was illegally employed without the conclusion of a contract awarding.
  • In cases where there was a contract, it was not posted on the “DIAGNOSIS” program.
  • There are strong indications of non -actual work in the context of specific project leasing contracts in ELKE funded. Programs for over 13 years, from 2005 – 2023.
  • Characteristically it is reported that during the period 2008 – 2011, “K” appears at the same time to: a) monitors a postgraduate program abroad, b) provides work to a foreign body, c) provides work to ELKE programs. and (d) provides teaching work to the educational institution, resulting in strongly questioning the non -actual provision of teaching and other projects to the HEI for these 3 years.

Following on from the above findings, the audit report was forwarded:

  • To the Minister of Education, Religions and Sports to make knowledge of the findings of the audit.
  • To the competent bodies of the University Foundation for the exercise of disciplinary action against the persons involved.
  • To the competent prosecutor’s office for the criminal evaluation of those as such.
  • To the audited body, with specific proposals regarding the immediate assumption of all the necessary protection actions of the public interest, by restoring the principles of equality and meritocracy, on the issues of the unlawful acquisition of teaching and other work by the “unlawful” and other work and the search for his/her remuneration as unnecessary paid.
