The Nissan Juke Hybrid with a multimodal hybrid drivetrain

by

Nissan’s compact crossover, the Juke, will soon add a new hybrid drivetrain to its range, offering dynamic performance, combined with reduced emissions and consumption.

The Juke Hybrid will feature a truly multimodal hybrid powertrain, as opposed to upgrading traditional electric-powered internal combustion engines, which in turn provides the following key benefits:

• Start with pure electricity – every time.

• Pleasant driving behavior, in all circumstances.

Excellent fuel efficiency thanks to the smart, multimodal gearbox, efficient energy recovery through braking and a high-performance battery.

Juke’s hybrid drivetrain consists of a new generation of state-of-the-art Nissan internal combustion engine specifically designed for use in a hybrid drivetrain application. It produces 69 kW (94 hp) and 148 Nm of torque.

In the electric part, Nissan integrated the main electric motor that produces 36 kW (49 hp) and 205 Nm of torque, while Renault supplied the system with the 15 kW high voltage starter / generator, the converter and the 1.2 kWh water-cooled battery. , as well as with the extremely innovative gearbox.

The result is a powertrain that provides 25% more power than the current version with the petrol engine, with a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 40% in the city cycle and up to 20% in the corresponding gross.
