More than half of children in Ukraine have been forced to flee their homes due to insecurity and the conflict that erupted after Russia invaded the country on February 24, Unicef announced today.
“During a month of war in Ukraine, 4.3 million children were displaced, more than half of the estimated 7.5 million child population,” Unicef said in a statement.

More than 100 children have lost their lives in the war in Ukraine
According to Ukrainian authorities, 117 children have lost their lives in the 27 days that last war.
The number of dead children was made public by the Ukrainian Parliament.
The number of injured children is 155.
6 million children are at risk
Russia’s attack on Ukraine, particularly school and hospital strikes, puts some six million children at great risk, warns today Save the Children (“Save the children”).
Roughly one in five children has been forced to flee the country to escape the war, and those who remain in war zones lack food, clean drinking water and medical care, while fearing for their lives, the NGO said.
