Greek Police Chief Lieutenant General Dimitrios Mallios met on Wednesday (30/4) at the ELAS Headquarters with a delegation of NYPD – New York City Police Department, accompanied by a US Embassy.
As noted in the announcement, during the meeting, which took place in a positive and constructive climate, issues of mutual interest related to the enhancement of public security, the improvement of the services provided to citizens, and the training of staff. Particular emphasis was also placed on the exchange of experiences, know -how and good practices between the two bodies.
In addition, ELAS points out that “the majority of NYPD executives who participated in the delegation are of Greek descent, which gave particular emotional and symbolic value to the meeting, highlighting the strong ties of the Greek community with the homeland.”
Finally, Mr Mallios thanked NYPD executives for their visit and emphasized the importance of expanding the cooperation channels with international police bodies, especially in the modern global security environment, which is constantly evolving.
