Agrinio Waste Treatment Unit It will be constructed in the position ‘Monodendri’within the administrative boundaries of the Stratos Municipal Unit of the Municipality of Agrinio, on a plot of 17.9 acres. The plot is included in the licensed area of 347 acres, where the Agrinio Landfill (Landfill) area is located.
As it became known by the RIS, this treatment unit will serve the municipalities of Agrinio, Amphilochia and Xerimeros. It is projected to accept 23,914 tonnes per year of combat urban waste, as well as remains of the Industrial Waste Treatment Unit (MEBA) and the Center for Recyclable Materials (CDDA) and another 9,500 tonnes per year of food waste, collected separately through coffee.
The Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, said: “We have just inaugurated the new waste treatment plant in Messinia, which completes the single project of Solid Waste Management of the Peloponnese, and now we are launching the work of the construction of a unit.
