Under particularly adverse conditions, the operation of identifying and rescuing one of the two hikers, whose lives were in danger today at noon, when they were attacked by a bear in the Virgin Forest of Fraktos, in the municipality of Paranesti, in the mountainous Drama.

The torrential rain that has been falling so far and the lightning is making the work of rescue groups in an area that is inaccessible.

The two Drama hikers are described as experienced and at noon were found in the Virgin Forest area of ​​Fraktos in an attempt to visit the abandoned World War II warpw.

During their hiking they were attacked by a bear, making one of the two running, apparently stuck and falling into a ravine. The second managed to climb a tree and be saved. It was he who when the danger passed alerted 112 asking for help. Indeed, it was reportedly one of the first to descend to the ravine, depths of more than 500 meters in order to locate his friend and companion. He was able to reach up to 25 meters deep, without unfortunately finding a trace of him.

The mobilization of the Fire Brigade, EMAK and dozens of volunteers was immediately mobilized, while the rescue operation also included members of the Branch of OPKATH. (Voluntary rescue team) based in Paranesti. A rescue helicopter also got up, and there was a subscription from Drone.
