Diplomatic sources are noted about Greek citizens who arrived at Cairo Airport with the aim of participating in the “path to Gaza” that they are in good health and free to enter Egypt.

In particular, the same sources report:

1. The 42 Greek citizens, who arrived this morning and remained shortly at Cairo Airport, during the control of the Egyptian authorities for the entry of foreigners into the country, are free to enter the country of Egypt.

2. Greek citizens are in good health and have been given a complete consular assistance. In the early hours of the morning, Greece’s Consul General in Cairo was at Cairo Airport and in constant contact with them.

3. It is emphasized that according to Egyptian authorities and yesterday’s announcement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to participate in the “international march to Gaza” requires a prior issuance of a special permission to access the border area adjacent to the Gaza Strip (City of ARISH and Border).

4. Yesterday’s announcement is highlighted on the website of the Greek Embassy in Cairo, inviting Greek citizens who intend to participate in Gaza to follow the instructions of local authorities.
