Audi expands the new Q5 range: In addition to internal combustion models with MHEV Plus technology, SUVs and Sportback will also be released as e-hybrid (phev). Both the Q5 SUV E-Hybrid Quattro and the Q5 Sportback E-Hybrid Quattro will be available at two power levels: with a power of 299 hp or 367 hp. The new generation of high-voltage batteries in the Audi Q5 e-hybrid models has about 45% greater capacity than its predecessor. As a result, the mixed capacity is 25.9 kWh (20.7 kWh) is available for electric driving.

With the new Q5 family, Audi has begun the next chapter in the SUV SUV success story in the middle class. The new Plug-in Hybrid models Audi Q5 SUV E-Hybrid Quattro and Audi Q5 Sportback E-Hybrid Quattro also bring all the benefits of an SUV and a Sportback on the road: spaces, flexibility, daily use, quattro four-wheel drive, as well as an even more progressive and dynamic design line. An upgraded design language, top internal combustion engine technology and the new operating philosophy are additionally excellent features of the new generation. With up to 367 hp and electric autonomy up to 100 kilometers, plug-in hybrid models combine a sporty and comfortable driving experience with a balanced combination of energy efficiency and performance.

E-hybrid models are powered by a 2.0 TFSI petrol engine with a power of 252 HP and an electric motor. In the 367 hp version, SUVs and Sportback can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. The 299 HP version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds. All versions can reach a top speed of 250 km/h. The electrified dual -clutch gearbox combined with the Quattro Ultra four -wheel drive system ensures a sporty and comfortable driving experience. Thanks to the increase in battery capacity by about 45% compared to its predecessor and maximum AC charging power at 11 kW, the battery can fully charge 2.5 hours.

Two modes of operation are available: “EV” and “Hybrid”. In EV mode, SUVs and Sportback e-hybrid models operate exclusively with electricity. When driving in a hybrid operation, the hybrid management system maintains a specific level of charge as needed to save enough electricity for subsequent use. In addition to automatic hybrid function, the desired charge level can now be selected individually.

Audi has also significantly increased the performance of energy recovery during braking. The degree of energy recovery in electric driving mode (EV) can be adjusted to three different levels using via paddles on the steering wheel. The vehicle regains energy automatically when this feature is activated. This is based on a route data stored in the navigation system. The new Audi Q5 SUV E-Hybrid and Audi Q5 Sportback e-Hybrid can also regain energy automatically without active route guidance. The hybrid management of the new models is designed for energy efficiency, flexibility and maximum customer comfort and automatically selects the optimum operation strategy.

Both e-hybrid models stand out above all with their upgraded basic equipment. With power selection at 299 hp, these include Sports S and automatic tricolocal air conditioning. While the 399 HP engine includes the LED Plus headlamps and the LED Pro lamps in the standard equipment. The Infotainment MMI Experience Plus, which is also available on the standard equipment, is equipped with the Audi Application Store, the smartphone connection and the Audi Sound System.
