A fully functional illegal distillery – alcohol packaging was found in a region of Crete by the Crete Organized Crime Department of the Organized Crime Management Directorate.
The case was arrested by a person who was charged with violations of the National Customs Code, alcoholic beverages law and weapons legislation.
A survey was preceded by the accused data as well as the spaces that developed his illegal action.
As it turned out, the defendant, having proceeded with the pre -emptive leasing of an indoor olive mill, had installed and operated a complete unit of alcoholic beverage (distillery), which regularly distilled – preparing a large amount of alcoholic beverage.
In terms of his own way, the defendant, after illegally producing distillate, transported it with a privately owned truck to a warehouse of his home. There, using a forklift (Clark) for a forklift, saved and arranged the alcoholic drink in 20 liters, with the aim of further disposal – sale.
As part of the operation, the defendant was found to operate the illegal distillery, carrying the produced drink using a pump in two tanks, which he had placed in the truck loading area. He then transported the alcoholic beverage -1.800 -liter, outside his home, where he was immobilized and arrested.
A similar alcoholic solution, total weight of -2.255 -liters, packed in -20 liters, was found in a storage area of ​​his home, as well as a forklift.
Overall, from the investigations carried out at his home and on the premises of the illegal distillery, they were found and confiscated:
– a fully equipped distillation system,
-4.055- liters of illegally produced alcohol
– pistol with a magazine containing 12 9mm cartridges),
– an improvised explosive mechanism,
– “Catana” sword (blade length 63.5 cm),
– forklift lifting machine (Clark) and
– Truck car.
Samples from the seized alcoholic beverage will be sent to the competent chemical service for laboratory examination, whose report will be communicated to the competent customs authority to enforce and impose deduction of duties and taxes.
Similarly, the pistol seized, weapons and the improvised explosive mechanism will be sent for expertise to the forensic laboratories.
