They were arrested, in the context of a coordinated operation by the Spata-Artemis Police Department, the Police Department of Northeast Attica yesterday (18/6), in Agia Paraskevi, a 42-year-old alien and a 45-year-old resident.

After utilizing information and evidence regarding the action of people active in farming, reproducing and marketing animals by deprived of leave by the competent authority, not following their welfare rules, the specific defendants were identified, and their criminal acts were identified.

How did they act

According to the pre -trial investigation, the defendants, using a showcase shop for pet marketing and providing products and services related to their care in the Gerakas area, carried out illegal pet trade.

In terms of the methodology of their action, the defendants had posted, through a well -known online advertisement website of more than 86 pets selling animals, in which they entered businesses in order for prospective buyers to contact them.

Subsequently, and after coming to an agreement with prospective buyers for the sale price and place of transaction, the detainees undertook the transfer of animals to them, using a business vehicle for this purpose.

What was found in investigations

In surveys conducted in a dog’s home and school, they were found trapped in cages and collected:

  • 27 dogs from various breeds, spinx breed and hawk.

In addition, they found and seized:

  • 2 agendas-headmasteries in which notes were held with advance amounts of money,
  • 29 Animal Health Booklets,
  • Operational Vehicle with which animal transport was carried out,
  • 2
  • 3 syringes.

It is noted that the collected animals were handed over to the relevant departments in order to receive the necessary protection and care.

In addition, for their acts, the defendants were also confirmed by administrative fines totaling EUR 119,000.

The detainees, with their case file by the Spata-Artemis Police Department, were taken to the competent prosecutor.
