There is a very high risk of fire today, Saturday (28/6) for six areas of the country according to the Fire Risk Provision Charter issued by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection (civilProtection.gov.gr).
Specifically, for today Saturday, June 28, 2025, a very high risk of fire (risk category 4) is foreseen for the following areas:
- Attica
- Region of Central Greece (IP of Evia, PE Boeotia)
- Peloponnese Region (Corinthia, IP Argolida)
- Northern Aegean Region (Lesvos, IP Chios, PE Samos, PE Ikaria)
- Region of Crete
- Region of Central Macedonia (Thessaloniki IP, IP Kilkis)
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection (civilProtection.gov.gr) of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection has informed the competent state -owned state agencies, as well as the regions and municipalities of the above areas, in order to be on increased political protection to deal with any immediate fire.
At the same time, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection recommends that citizens are very careful and to avoid actions in the countryside that can cause fire by negligence, such as burning dry grass and branches or cleaning residues, using sparks, cigarettes, etc. It is also recalled that the burning of the fields are prohibited during the fire period.
In the event of a fire, citizens are kindly requested to alert the Fire Service immediately in the 199 call number 199.
