Four hundred and eighty unemployed from all over Central Macedonia are subsidized by Regionin order to set up their own business.
The funding action for the aid unemployedwho want to start a new business or become self-employed, was launched by the Region of Central Macedonia at the end of last September, with the implementation body KEPA – ANEM and the final results of the 480 beneficiaries who will receive each amount of 14,800 euros.
In fact, the initial budget of 2,960,000 euros was increased by a decision of the Regional Governor of Central Macedonia Apostolos Tzitzikostas to 7,104,000 euros, in order to be able to finance the business plans of all eligible applications.
“Through continuous support actions for the unemployed and workers, the Region of Central Macedonia utilizes European resources and programs to deal with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, on the other hand, the accuracy crisis and also to reduce unemployment and the recession, but also stimulate entrepreneurship. Our interventions are targeted and have an effect. Indicative of the need for such interventions to finance new investments and even from the unemployed was the large participation of our fellow citizens in this action.
The Region of Central Macedonia multiplied the initial budget, so that none of the eligible proposals, none of the unemployed who were considered eligible according to the criteria of the program, be deprived of funding, which is the first decisive step to pass 480 of our fellow citizens unemployment in the business world, either by starting their own business or as self-employed.
Our constant goal is to give the opportunity to as many of our fellow citizens as possible to have access to financial tools that will bring them income and ultimately support the local economy, following the successive crises of recent years that we are experiencing as a society, the financial, health, accuracy.
With this action we give a professional outlet to 480 unemployed people of Central Macedonia, who will be employed in specific objects of activity, selected based on the development priorities of the Region of Central Macedonia. The 480 business plans approved relate exclusively to the priority areas of RIS3 (Smart Specialization Strategy) of the Region of Central Macedonia, which are:
-Agricultural Sector.
-Tourism.
-Materials and Constructions.
Clothing and Textiles.
-Information and Communication Technologies.
-Energy Technologies.
-Environmental technologies.
-Transportation and Supply Chain.
The new companies are as a whole very small, they are recommended exclusively by the unemployed and a condition for their strengthening was the organization of the activity in independent professional spaces.
