A serious complaint of a “sachet” at a regional hospital was received by Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis on his cellphone and posted it on “X”.
Patient denounces a surgeon that he asked him 100 euros to operate him. When Mr. Georgiadis came to know the complaint immediately ordered the SAD to be held for the administrative part, the hospital administrator had already taken place, which is starting immediately tomorrow. At the same time, the complaint to the prosecutor’s office tomorrow morning is forwarded to the criminal side. The minister calls on citizens not to be afraid, not to give a “sachet” and to denounce such behaviors.
“If the complaint proves, this “Lord” will have nothing to do with the NHS and I will ask the Medical Association concerned to convene his disciplinary procedures to remove his permission. I say clearly to all our patients that the vast majority of our doctors are honest and conscientious people. We will uproot these few exceptions from the NHS because they are offended by all. No patient should give any additional remuneration for medical services provided. In the NHS everything is provided free of charge by the Hellenic Republic“, The Minister of Health points out.
He adds that “the NHS doctors who want to legally increase their incomes now have the right to offer private service with our reforms, and in addition to paying for private services and already +20% of our medical staff. Do not retreat, do not give a “sachet” immediately make us complaint. Do not be afraid of such brazen threats Our democracy is stronger than them. I contacted the complainant himself shortly and assured him that his complaint would not be buried in long -term procedures, ”Adonis Georgiadis said.
The adventure that the patient lived
According to the complaint, the patient went to a hospital in the district, where he was diagnosed by a doctor with a stone surgeon in the kidney who had to come out.
“The doctor directly asked the patient to give him 100 euros to operate him” The patient was taken aback by him that he had no money on him at the time and that he would come back to bring him. He then thought he did not want to succumb and told the doctor that he would not pay him 100 euros.
A few days later the patient went to surgery in the same hospital by other doctors, in a routine surgery that would not last long. During the surgery procedure, some “complications” were created and doctors had to shout at the surgeon who had requested 100 euros, to continue the surgery. When he came to take over the surgery he went over the patient’s head and told him provocatively in front of everyone that he should apologize otherwise he would not have surgery and that 100 euros can now put them in… .. as his doctor told him he didn’t need them because he already had a lot of money. The patient apparently in a tragic situation, apologized to the doctor so that he could continue the surgery. In the following days there were arguments and threats that if the patient continues to look for his right they would put Albanians to settle him, etc. ” It refers to the complaint posted by the Minister of Health.
“The patient made a formal complaint to the hospital administrator who little told him that no one had made any official complaint of something so serious so far! He then assured him that he would become a SAD immediately. ” The minister describes this man’s complaint as “brave”, noting that the process of clarification and punishment has already begun.
