Saint Olympus the Priest, Witness

Saint Olympus was a Byzantine lord of the reign of Emperor Heraklion (610 – 641 AD), who was killed in prison by the Persian King Hosroe for his confession in Christian faith.

Agia Salome

St. Salome Myroforos was the first cousin of Our Lady, the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ. He had the wife of Zebedee and sons Jacob and John. Gifted and herself, with a staunch piety, she was one of the women who followed Christ, and contributed to the Apostolic Brotherhood Fund.

Salome was the one, motivated by a maternal philosopher, who begged the Lord when he was going to Jerusalem for the last time, to honor her sons with primary posts. Because he had the idea that Jesus in Jerusalem was supposed to resurrect David’s throne. But Salome, in the moments of the Lord’s horrible passion, and while disciples and friends were scattered, she was there with some other faithful women and beating their breasts. Salome also claimed to be one of the Myrrh, in which the Angel announced the resurrection of Jesus.

After the founding of the Christian Church in Jerusalem, Salome continued to be distinguished for its zeal and alms. The persecution against the Church in Jerusalem caused great regret in Salome. Her heart suffered a great deal of shattering day, which Herod decapitated her firstborn son Jacob. But hope in Christ strengthened her and with the expectation of eternal goods delivered her soul peacefully.
