Sadness has caused the tragic accident shortly before 10pm on Friday night on the Dimonia coast that resulted in a serious injury to injure an 8 -year -old and losing her life by the 86 -year -old woman who watched the little girl.

The two victims were dragged by a large engine while trying to cross the road. Testimonies say the driver of the machine started while the lantern was still red and moved at speed, which is being investigated by the authorities.

According to Tempo24, the 86 -year -old woman was handing the 8 -year -old when they crossed the road. Suddenly the engine appeared and as a result it would fall on them. According to eyewitnesses, the elderly woman put her body forward to protect the minor girl.

“She rescued my daughter with her death,” the 8 -year -old’s father told Flamis.gr. The 86 -year -old, though initially known to be a grandmother of the young man, was finally confirmed, was a neighbor who trusted the family as a “grandmother” and often went for the kids.

The injured baby girl was slightly injured in the “Karamandanio” Children’s Hospital in Patras and there is no danger to his health.

Arrested 46 -year -old motorcycle driver

Police arrested the 46 -year -old driver of the engine who was slightly injured and went to Agios Andreas Hospital where he was given first aid.

EKAB rescuers found at the scene of the accident did what they could to come back to the unfortunate woman, but it was too late.
