Innocent about the grapes that ended up on the road, falling from a trailer on its entrance to the Thessaloniki Ring Road, from the Moudania junction (K-12), the 58-year-old driver and the 62-year-old owner of the heavy vehicle were judged. The incident happened on the last Sunday of August, resulting in a long -standing congestion in the area and even at peak times due to the return of excursions.

The driver and owner of the Dalika – operating from Halkidiki to Drama carrying hundreds of grapes with grapes – had been referred to the Thessaloniki Criminal Court of Autofactic Criminal Court, for discharge and on a case -by -case basis for dangerous driving.

“The merchandise was loaded correctly, the vehicle was not overweight, it was a bad time,” the driver apologized, who said that the crates “slipped” because of the “unpredictable” slope of the road and because this particular variety of grapes produces “liquids”. The owner, for his part, said that in more than 40 years of his professional activity he never happened to him. “There was a car shift because of the turn,” he said.

On the grounds that the two men took all those actions to remedy the problem created on the road, the court decided to acquit them.
