Volvo Cars has begun production of the new Volvo ES90 new electric electricity for European markets, marking a major milestone in its course towards a purely electric future.
Designed for a life in balance, the ES90 offers safety, technology and multipurpose capabilities in the elegant form of a modern, electric sedan. It is the first Volvo model with 800 Volt technology, which provides it more autonomy and faster than any previous electric Volvo.
Of course, it was designed with our innovative security technology in its core, in a package intended to be another Scandinavian “design classic” by Volvo Cars. Based on a next -generation host and sophisticated around the Tech Stack, the ES90 is designed to evolve over time through continuous software updates.
Volvo Cars has opened the ES90 order book in several European countries, including Greece, and customers’ deliveries will start later within the year. The ES90 will also be available soon in some of our important markets in the Asia-Pacific region.
“The purely electric ES90 is an important milestone for Volvo Cars entry into a new era of safety, sustainability and anthropocentric technology,” Says Francesca Gamboni (Francesca Gamboni) head of industrial activities at Volvo Cars. “With its production now, we confirm our commitment to a purely electric future, proving our ability to innovate and meet the needs of our customers.”
With the revelation of the ES90, in March, it became clear that this car creates a new space for itself. It combines the sophisticated elegance of a sedan with the multifunctionality of a fastback, while offering the spacious interior and the highest distance from the ground associated with SUVs.
By mixing the best elements of these three categories, the ES90 is a category alone – a flexible car that does not compromise comfort or space.
As a purely electric car with zero emissions, the ES90 reflects Volvo Cars’ wider commitment to sustainability, from climate neutral production to the principles of circular economy and responsible business practices. It is produced by the use of neutral energy climate at the Volvo Cars plant in Chengdu and, according to the July life rating report, the ES90 has one of the lowest carbon fingerprints from any other Volvo car to date.
