On a 24 -hour strike on Thursday, September 11th, drivers react, as they argue, to the recent layoffs of 3 drivers from the Hellenic Train.
In its announcement, the Panhellenic Association of Personal Attraction (PEPE) states:
“Our club is conducting a 24 -hour strike on Thursday, September 11, against recent layoffs at Hellenic Train, a member of the Ferrovie Dello Stato group.
The company fired without warning in August 3 experienced drivers who belonged to socially sensitive groups (facing – after more than 42 years of work – health problems).
At the recent meeting of our Association, representatives of the Hellenic Train said that the company in the context of its “reorganization” chooses to dismiss those who are close to retirement (to have fewer consequences reported- while the exact opposite is the case) and those who have health problems!
At the same time as it fired employees, the Hellenic Train company, which is subsidized by more than 50 million euros a year by the Greek State, during its beloved tactics, is forcing the drivers to overseas (work on rest days), and has not granted the regular licenses of 2024!
For the day of the strike, our union has provided the Law provided by law security personnel to serve social needs. “
Finally, he calls on the administration of the Hellenic Train to take back all the redundancies of workers and declares “our fight against them will be constant”.
