Clarifications on the school attendance license are provided by the General Confederation of Workers of Greece (GSEE) as part of the start of the new school year.
Specifically, the GSEE, through the Workers & Unemployed Information Center (www.kepea.gr), recalls that it is foreseen by the school attendance license for parents up to 18 years of age, attending elementary or secondary education courses.
Under applicable legislation:
– Beneficiaries of school monitoring permit and generally their presence at school is All workersfull or part -time.
– License duration is Up to four working days for each calendar year.
– School attendance license is granted self -sufficient for each child who is a student-student, regardless of whether the other parent is working or not and regardless of the number of employees in the business.
– License is granted without cuts in earnings and is not offset with the other licenses granted to employees.
– Workers are entitled to be absent some hours or the whole day.
If both parents work, they decide which of the two will make use of this license or if they wish to be shared, they decide and inform in a responsible statement of how long each one will use the permit, which however cannot exceed four days in total.
Since more favorable arrangements, by law, collective agreements or employment regulations, they apply.
The elementary education also belongs to the kindergarten, the attendance to which, under the law, is now two years for toddlers completing the age of 31 of the year of registration.
The school attendance permit may also be granted on the day of the sanctification, with the start of the school year, as well as during the days of school holidays or events, because the parent can be informed during these days on school operation and organization issues, the planning of the educational process, Child integration into the school unit or interaction with other children, issues that are also very important for his psychosocial development and health.
Parents of children with disabilities, regardless of their age, who are studying in a special education structure of the Ministry of Education or are integrated and attend programs at day care centers, are also entitled to this permission.
