Nikos Chardalias highlighted the uninterrupted support of the Attica Region that improve the quality of life of citizens and upgrading the neighborhoods of the basin, touring Korydallos.

Continuing the cycle of visits and contacts with local communities, the Attica Regional Governor had a meeting and discussion of all the major projects funded by the region in the region, with Mayor Nikos Hursalas and officials.

In this context, the regeneration of the former Schisto quarries in Ano Korydallos, a total area of ​​115 acres and a budget of more than 10,000,000 euros, is included. The project concerns the construction of a state -of -the -art sports center, which will be the new landmark for Korydallos and is included in the 280+1 projects announced by the administrative authority to change the daily lives of Attica citizens.

As Nikos Chardalias pointed out: “The redevelopment of the former quarry space is one of our big bets. The aim is to create infrastructures that will be a reference points for the whole city. We create modern sports and entertainment venues for citizens of all ages so they can enjoy activities in a safe and friendly environment. At the same time, we are planning parks where families will be able to spend quality time together, stroll and participate in social activities. “

The project includes, among other things, the creation of a central track and field, volleyball, beach volley, basketball, 5×5 football, indoor gym, outdoor sports, medical, administration, restaurants, athletes and other athletes and other auxiliary spaces Recreation of Attica.

During the meeting at the Town Hall, the completion of the new local swimming pool, the ongoing inter -municipal rainwater network with Nice, a total budget of 18 million euros, the course of energy interventions and further upgrading of 12 school units as well as the progress of the new school units, were also discussed.

As Mr Chardalias said, the region’s strategy is the balanced development of all areas of the Basin, the practical support of projects that upgrade the daily lives of citizens and the close cooperation with the municipalities. “I am always happy when I am in these popular neighborhoods where citizens continue to fight for the obvious. For his part, Mayor Korydallos Nikos Hursalas praised the contribution of the Region and personally to Mr. Chardalia to the launch of critical projects in the city, stressing “our cooperation is a stockpile for the development of the area. Following the meeting, the Regional Governor conducted an autopsy on the former quarries and the school complex housing the 5th Primary and 4th and 5th Korydallos Gymnasium, which completes an energy upgrade of 1.78 million euros. He also visited the adjacent construction site where work on the construction of the new building will be under way to meet the needs of the 5th Gymnasium.
