When judging the first actions of the so-called “environmental agenda” of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), Minister Cármen Lúcia said that there is an “unconstitutional state of affairs” in the country’s environmental policy.
The minister is the rapporteur for six of the seven actions in the package that contests the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government in the area, especially those related to deforestation in the Amazon.
Carmen Lúcia’s strong vote has not yet been concluded. The session will resume on Wednesday (6). The court’s decision could change the course of environmental policy in the country.
In this Monday’s episode (4), Café da Manhã explains what is under debate in the Supreme Court and discusses possible scenarios based on the court’s decisions. Participates in the podcast Suely Araújo, a specialist in public policies at the Climate Observatory and former president of Ibama. She participated in the elaboration of some actions of the package.
