Asked about the exact number of Greeks living in the city, he stressed that based on the latest official census, 2,500 people said they were of Greek descent, but Greek authorities estimate that the actual number of residents of Greek descent in general is 8,000 – 10,000. .
“Attacking a city is the most unacceptable thing, it is a war crime,” said Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias in a meeting in Odessa with the head of the city’s regional military administration, Colonel Maksym Marchenko.
Mr Dendias condemned the attacks on the city and vowed to convey “what needs to be conveyed” to the Council of Ministers of the European Union.
