Today Monday starts at the First Three -Member Criminal Court of Heraklion the first in level Crete trial for OPECEPE. According to cretalive.gr, they sit in the dock 104 Cretanto whom it is charged that in collaboration with specific consulting companies and accounting offices presented virtual leases to collect subsidies.
The defendants, women and men, some relatives, come from various areas of the prefecture of Heraklion.
The pattern is stable and repetitive: They have applied to receive aid, but also to participate in measures/actions for the rights they declared, and among other things for rented parcels.
They declared several parcels as a case -by -case basis, displayed the elements of specific landlords, produced the corresponding agreements to OPEKEPE to support the declared as well as the corresponding agricultural agreements.
But the statements did not actually respond, since the landlords did not owe these parcels, nor did the defendants leased them from them and had never cultivated the disputed land.
However, some of the defendants did not even receive a euro since, as stated in the summons, they were bound by the Technical Audit Division or were deemed non -beneficiaries of subsidy on the basis of cross -checks.
