A cancer patient at the University Hospital of Larissa received the wrong medicine, causing an alarm to the medical staff.
More specifically, during the administration of chemotherapy medication, it was found by the nurse, who was present, that she was being given the wrong medication. Immediately, the procedure was stopped and an attending physician was notified who examined the patient and found that there was no risk to her health from the medicine administered to her.
An urgent EDE and removal of the nurses from the Oncology Clinic has already been ordered for the case.
It is noted that the patient remains in the clinic and her treatment continues.
