After its successful presence in Athens, PPC The Butterfly Trail “opens its wings” and travels to Thessaloniki, inviting young and old to live a mixed reality experience, which combines science, nature and technology through an innovative perspective. From October 15 to November 15, Xarhakou Park is transformed into a spectacular installation where visitors can learn the story of the scientist and botanist, Dr. Pelegrin who brought rare species of butterflies from Peru, creating a digital “greenhouse” that started its journey from London, followed Athens and continues its journey in Thessaloniki.

In this impressive ‘botanical garden’, visitors can interact with the butterflies through their smartphone screen. By scanning a QR code, they download an AR app that allows them to “feed” the chrysalis with ampoules of nectar. This process transforms the chrysalises into colorful butterflies, which digitally fly around the visitor, creating a fantastical backdrop. At the end of the tour, visitors can take commemorative photos with the colorful butterflies from this unique journey of technology and imagination, in the specially designed space.

PPC The Butterfly Trail is open to the public daily from 15:00 to 21:00, and on weekends it operates from 10:00 to 21:00. Each tour lasts approximately 20 minutes and accommodates groups of up to 40 people, allowing everyone to enjoy this unique experience with free entry.
