The new Board of Directors of MOD was formed in the presence of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis, the company’s executives and the President of the Employees of MOD.

Mr. Papathanasis, at the start of the meeting of the new Board of Directors, pointed out the following, among other things: “I congratulate the President and the members of the Board of Directors and wish them a good term. MOD is a very important organization with a substantial contribution to the daily life of the citizen. Because a large part of what is diffused into society in the form of development programs passes through your own work. Today the resources available for the development of the country are significantly increased compared to the past – suffice it to mention that in 2019, when we took over the government of the country, the Public Investment Program was 5.4 billion euros, while this year it is 14.6 billion euros.

At the same time, we have radically changed the picture regarding the state’s ability to “run” these development programs. I want to thank all the executives of MOD for their decisive contribution to the successful implementation of the NSRF so far. I have confidence in the company’s ability to carry out complex projects and for this reason in the new Program Period 2028-2034, it will be asked to contribute even more. In the European Union today there are new facts and new challenges, such as Europe’s autonomy and defense capacity. These contemporary challenges should be effectively addressed in order to make the European Union more competitive, more resilient and more socially just.”

Afterwards, the President of MOD, Mr. Kostantinos Karalis, warmly thanked the Deputy Minister for his trust and assured him that the company’s primary concern remains the effective support of the NSRF Services as well as the support of the beneficiaries, an area in which the company has been placing particular emphasis in recent times
