A common front to combat illegal gambling and protect players and society was formed by the representatives of the State and the involved bodies, who participated in the Responsible Gaming Day organized by OPAP, a member of Allwyn. Government representatives, top executives from regulatory authorities, international associations and industry companies agreed on the need to adopt a holistic framework to tackle illegal gambling and take collective action around Responsible Gaming.

The OPAP conference – the largest ever held in Greece with the exclusive topic of discussion on Responsible Gaming – was attended by a total of more than 400 people, who applauded the State’s intention to take legislative initiatives against illegal gambling. In addition, they applauded the initiatives implemented by OPAP to protect players, recognizing that it is a pioneer in the field of Responsible Gaming, which is also confirmed by the top certifications it has received from the World Lottery Association (WLA) and the European Lottery Association (EL).

At the same time, the Deputy Minister of Health, Dimitris Vartzopoulos, highlighted OPAP’s substantial contribution to the work of EOPAE (formerly KETHEA), emphasizing that the company contributes by covering the entire cost of operating the 1114 line to support people who face problems of excessive gambling.
