The breeders of Crete, in Heraklion and Chania, declare that they are determined to continue their mobilization.

The farmers in Heraklion remain for a second day at the block they have set up on the Northern Road Axis of Crete (BOAK), at the height of the former KTEO in Karteros. Among other things, they complain about the increased cost of production and the absence of substantial support measures and emphasize that they are not going to stop unless there is a substantial dialogue, pointing out that the problems of the primary sector have reached a breaking point.

The road will be open from time to time, to relieve traffic congestion. According to what the President of the Livestock Association of Heraklion, Lefteris Triantafyllakis, told Creta24, the block was open early in the morning in order not to create problems for students, people with disabilities and people going to work.

According to him, no answer has yet been given either for solving their problems, or for the meeting they are requesting, either with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis or with the Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis.

At the same time, later in the day the farmers and breeders will hold a meeting at the BOAK block in order to decide their next moves.

Meanwhile, the night passed with bitter cold, but the assembled peasants did not retreat.

According to information, however, the breeders are considering the possibility of leaving the block and moving in another direction, most likely towards the Decentralized Administration of Crete.
