“No approval and permission to participate in the parade was given to a group or association with the title “Greek Orthodox Youth”, assures the Region of Central Macedonia, in a statement, on the occasion of publications and complaints about the participation of extreme elements in the October 28 parade in Thessaloniki.

The Region points out that this fact is also reflected in the official program of the parade of Civil and Military Departments, which it attaches.

At the same time, it is underlined in the same announcement that “any other presence or appearance of a team outside of the official program and without relevant permission, is not under the approval of the Region of Central Macedonia».

In addition, it is emphasized that “in case it is confirmed that a club that had permission to participate in the parade tampered with data whose action is not consistent with the principles and values ​​of the Republic, this club will be expelled from all the statutory events of the Central Macedonia Region”.

“The Region of Central Macedonia remains committed to the principles of democracy, unity and respect for the national anniversary, categorically condemning any form of extreme or divisive expression that is not consistent with the spirit of the celebration,” the relevant announcement concludes.
