Former New Democracy MP Dimitris Tsantoulas has died at the age of 86.

Dimitris Tsantoulas was born in Preveza in 1936 and studied at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Athens School of Medicine, President of the Hellenic Society for the Study of the Liver and participated in a number of Greek and international scientific institutions.

He has been a valuable member of the New Democracy for decades.

In the period 2002-2004 he was a member of the extra-parliamentary committee of Health and Welfare of ND and in the elections of 2004 he was elected Member of Parliament for Preveza.

Nea Dimokratia issued a relevant statement saying goodbye to its former MP, talking about a man who “left a strong mark on public life and in his particular homeland, Preveza” and expressing condolences to his family.
