Russia denies responsibility for Kramatorsk strike – speaks of Ukrainian provocations

The Russian Defense Ministry denied that Russian forces were responsible for rocket attack on Kramatorsk train stationin eastern Ukraine, today, as reported by the RIA news agency.

The State Railway Company of Ukraine has announced that more than 30 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in this blow, which happened while civilians were trying to escape to safer parts of the country. A humanitarian volunteer involved in the removal of the bodies told AFP that at least 35 people had lost their lives.

The Russian Defense Ministry said only the Ukrainian army had this type of missile used, adding that it was similar to the one that struck downtown Donetsk on March 14, killing 17 people, according to RIA.

About 4,000 people – mostly elderly, women and children – were at the Kramatorsk train station when it was hit by Russian missiles today, said Mayor Oleksandr Honkarenko.

The governor of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic said that today’s rocket attack on the train station was a Ukrainian “provocation”, as reported by the TASS news agency.
