With the long march that will start from the Polytechnic and will end in front of the American embassy, ​​the celebrations of the 48th anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising culminate.

The gates of the Polytechnic open at 8 in the morning in order to complete the celebrations and the laying of wreaths and will close at around 13.00. Then all the visitors will leave, the closing ceremony will follow in the courtyard with a speech by a professor of NTUA, there will be an invitation to the dead of the Polytechnic uprising by a representative of the Association of Imprisoned and Exiled Resistance and recitation of the anthem in memory.

This year’s celebrations are taking place normally after last year’s postponement due to the pandemic, but with strict protection measures for all participants.

As part of the measures to protect public health from the risk of further spread of coronavirus, the Rector’s Council of the NTUA decided that until Wednesday, November 17, there will be increased security of the Patissia complex of the NTUA by the security service of the institution and the buildings of the complex. in Patision, will be closed.

Extraordinary arrangements on public transport

Due to the events, there will be changes and modifications in the itineraries of public transport.

In particular, according to STASY, and by order of the Greek Police, the metro station “Megaro Mousikis” will be closed from 15:00 and the stations “Syntagma” and “Evangelismos” from 16:30. The trains will pass through these stations without making stops.

Modifications will also be made to bus and trolleybus routes on streets around the Polytechnic and in the city center, according to the suggestions of ELAS.

Extraordinary traffic regulations have been in force since Monday, which will be in force until 06.00 on Thursday, November 18.
