It is easier from today, Tuesday 12 April, to calculate and pay the fees for the transfer of a vehicle. Specifically, this is the service “Calculation of fees for the transfer of a passenger or two-wheeler”, which interested parties can find either at gov.gr in the section “Citizen and Everyday” and the subsection “Transportation”, or directly, in special platform.
With the new service, citizens can now calculate the fees (license and transfer) required for the transfer of a vehicle. In addition, they can locate in a single point the approximately 80 bank accounts of all the regional units of the country where the fees are paid, depending on the transport service of their choice, in order to complete the transfer of the vehicle.
The procedure for calculating the registration fee and vehicle transfer fees is very simple.
Initially, the citizen is asked to fill in the following information:
• Owner VAT number
• registration number of the vehicle under transfer
• percentage of ownership to be transferred
• issuance of a document
• service where the transfer will take place
Then, the license and transfer fees are calculated automatically and, along with the amount, the IBANs of the bank accounts are displayed, to which the deposit can be made. It is noted that, for each region that will be part of the DIAS electronic payment system with RF codes (instead of IBAN), the RF code will be displayed, so that payment can be made at any bank with physical presence or electronically.
THE new way of calculating vehicle registration and transfer feesgreatly facilitates the citizens, as the double transfer of the interested party to KEP or to the region and the bank is no longer required for the calculation and payment of the fees respectively, before the completion of the vehicle transfer process.
The platform is the first step for the digital transfer of a vehicle, which will be completed in the near future. The aim is for the process to be completed purely digitally, without presenting any supporting documents (handwritten application, KTEO Technical Inspection Report, certificate of non-debt road tax etc).
This is the implementation of another project from the program agreement between the Ministries of Digital Government and Transport and Infrastructure, based on the directions of the Ministers of Digital Government, Kyriakos Pierrakakis and Transport and Infrastructure, Costas Karamanlis. The platform was designed and implemented by the General Secretariat for Digital Governance and Simplification of Procedures under the supervision of Secretary General Leonidas Christopoulos, within the National Program for Simplification of Procedures (EPAD).
