Volos: He threw a kettle at his wife’s head

A 74-year-old man from Volos is accused of domestic bodily harm, domestic threat, insult and use of a weapon, who threw a teapot on his wife’s head, while she took a knife and caused a cut in his hand.

The elderly man will be tried the day after tomorrow, Friday, at the Autophorous Three-Member Criminal Court of Volos and until then he was released on the condition that he be removed from the family home.

The incident between the couple took place early Monday night, when the husband, according to the woman’s lawsuit, returned home drunk, started shouting “leave the house” and cursing the woman, whom he attacked, throwing of a kettle on the head.

The 58-year-old woman, when she saw that he was approaching her threateningly, took a knife from the kitchen and caused a cut in his hand.

After the incident, the woman called “100”, the perpetrator was arrested and then filed a lawsuit against him.

The accused was taken to the Courts yesterday, but the trial was postponed, in order to present a medical opinion and it will take place on Friday.

Until then, the accused was released, on the condition that he stay out of the family home, which provoked his reaction, as he stated that he has nowhere to stay and can not leave his house to stay with the woman.
